The Coordinating Commission’s governing board approved the 2011 Nebraska Higher Education Progress Report at its March 8 meeting in Lincoln. The Commission is required by statute to produce this annual report, which is designed to provide the Nebraska Legislature with comparative statistics to monitor and evaluate progress toward achieving three key priorities for the state’s postsecondary education system:
- Increase the number of students who enter postsecondary education in Nebraska;
- Increase the percentage of students who enroll and successfully complete a degree; and
- Reduce, eliminate and then reverse the net out-migration of Nebraskans with high levels of educational attainment.
The Progress Report includes a wealth of data on, among other things, enrollment, financial aid, college continuation and graduation rates, ACT scores, and high school graduation rates.
